Richard C. Cross

Richard C. Cross, age 74 of Egg Harbor, WI, died on Tuesday (June 28, 2005) at Doorchester Nursing Home in Egg Harbor.
Born October 12, 1930 in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Eugene and Theresa (Stancato) Trecroci.
He attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. In 1953, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. In 1957, he received his Masters Degree in education from Loyola University in Chicago and in 1977, his Ph.D. in administration from Holy Cross University.
On August 8, 1953, at St. George Catholic Church in Kenosha, he married Iris M. Lee.
Richard was a teacher at Columbus Elementary School. He then served as a principal at Frank Elementary and McKinley Junior High School. Following his relocation to Brillion in 1971, he served as the superintendent of schools in Hilbert, WI. After his education career, he became a national sales manager having worked for Endries Fastener Company and Trans Union Corporation retiring in 1985 and moving to Door County in 1991.
He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Jacksonport, WI, the Egg Harbor Lions Club and Lions International, Challenge the Outdoors Handicap Group where he had served on the board of directors, he served as a Boy Scout leader at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha and began a handicapped Boy Scout Troup. Richard also served as past president of the Kenosha Visiting Nurses Association, Kenosha March of Dimes, Easter Seals and three different Lions Clubs. He was a regional chairman and deputy district governor with Lions International and also served on the Crippled Children’s Board.
Richard is survived by his wife, Iris M. Cross of Jacksonport, WI; four sons, Timothy (Lauren) Cross of Appleton, WI, Jeffrey (Sharon) Cross of Brillion, WI, Daniel (Diane) Cross of Green Bay, WI and Jonathan (Tiffany Klatt) Cross of Fish Creek, WI; two daughters, Sandra (Lee) Stephens of Houston, TX and Janet Allen of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Claude (Phyllis) Trecroci of Holman, WI and William Cross of Kenosha, a sister, Aurelia Cesario of Kenosha; several nieces and nephews; former daughter in law, Marie and his two sisters-in-law, Madeline and Jemella Trecroci.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Cross, Ernest Trecroci and Edward Trecroci and a sister, Edith Parise.
A Memorial Mass in celebration of the life of Richard will be held on Friday, July 8th at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street. Private inurnment will be held in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends are asked meet with the family from10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
