Laurel E. Staniforth
May 23, 1954 - September 06, 2006
Laurel E. Staniforth, age 52 of the town of Wescott died on Wednesday
September 6, 2006 at her home. Born on May 23, 1954 in Shawano she
was the daughter of Beatrice (Smith) Staniforth and the late Thomas
Staniforth, Sr. She graduated from the Shawano high School, Class of
1972 and served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years, stationed in Germany ,
California , Colorado and Texas . She was employed as a computer parts
and battery pack sales person. She moved back to the Shawano area 5
years ago. She was a member of St. Martin ’s Catholic Church, Cecil and
the Challenge the Outdoors and Low Vision Support Group.
Survivors include: her children; Graham Karth of Madison and Callie
Griese of Adams Friendship, her mother, Beatrice Staniforth of Shawano,
brothers and sisters: Pat (Cindy) Staniforth of Shawano, Jan Raddant of
Shawano, Kathy (Jim) Welcing of Bonduel, Thomas Staniforth, Jr. of Cecil
and special friends, Silas Beltz and Mary Tree. She was preceded in death
by a brother, Robert and her father, Thomas Staniforth, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday September 8, 2006 at St.
Martin ’s Catholic Church, Cecil with Deacon Tom Craig officiating. Military
Rites will follow by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Family and
friends may call at the church on Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of the
services.
A special thank you is extended by the family to the Shawano Friends of
Hospice, the Department of Aging Driver Escort Service and Arc Angels.
Memorial funds will be established to the Shawano Friends of Hospice
and St. Martin ’s Catholic Church. The Swedberg Funeral Home is in
